August Cooke / Limunga / Selût

An evening of experimental folk and neo-soul from August Cooke, Limunga and Selût, marking the release of August Cooke's new single On The Line.

**Selût**, aka CTZ, is a multidisciplinary creator working anonymously. As the performer and director behind the project Selût, they lead one of the first fully independent 2D girl bands to emerge from Turkey with an international reach. Selût is a poetic commentary where music, storytelling, and visual art become one with their signature lyrical charm, that often carries strong commentary on social matters, love, hate, and momentums of life.

**Limunga** is a London-based singer-songwriter and composer blending folk, jazz, blues, and neo-soul. Her music pairs hypnotic vocals with melancholic acoustic textures, often using the cello as a double bass to create a warm, soulful sound. She has performed at venues including the Southbank Centre.

The cello was always an emotive voice for **August Cooke** that released something contained. Inspired by the romantic classical music of his teenage years, his songs are unsteady vessels that seek expressive freedom. His second ep *On The Line* is a fragmented set of songs together forming a vision of sunlit melody, lilting fragility and churning descent. His first ep *Like Rivers* won acclaim including from Gilles Peterson, who described him as a 'great new talent'.
