A world premiere from Joseph Cabon opens this richly English first half, framed by Howells at his most rhapsodic and elegiac. **Peter Cigleris**, a clarinettist with a growing reputation for his work uncovering British rarities, joins our Artistic Director **Simon Callaghan** for the soaring Clarinet Sonata, before the **Piatti Quartet** turn to Tchaikovsky's youthful, melody-laden First Quartet to close a concert that pairs discovery with deep romantic warmth.
