Nonsense présente : Christian Loeffler (Live)

Christian Löffler is a renowned German musician and producer, widely celebrated for his

distinctive blend of electronic music that seamlessly integrates ambient, techno, and house

elements. Born in 1985 in Greifswald, Löffler grew up in a serene environment close to the

Baltic Sea, an influence that profoundly shaped his musical aesthetic. His compositions often

reflect a deep connection to nature and his surroundings, creating vibrant and evocative

soundscapes. Löffler's journey into music began at a young age, initially through playing the

guitar and drums. However, the discovery of electronic music production genuinely ignited

his passion. He started producing music in his teenage years, drawing inspiration from Paul

Kalkbrenner and other electronic artists. His unique sound quickly gained attention, leading

to his first releases in the early 2010s.

His debut album, "A Forest," released in 2012, was a critical success, praised for its

introspective mood and intricate sound design. The album encapsulated Löffler's signature

style, combining melancholic melodies with minimalist beats, and established him as a

significant figure in the electronic music scene. Löffler's subsequent albums, including

"Mare" (2016) and "Graal (Prologue)" (2019), further solidified his reputation as a master

of atmospheric electronic music. His work is characterised by a delicate balance between

electronic and acoustic elements, often featuring his artwork, as Löffler is also an

accomplished visual artist. Beyond his studio albums, Löffler is known for his captivating live

performances. He often performs at renowned venues and festivals worldwide, showcasing

his ability to create immersive musical experiences. His sets are renowned for their

emotional depth and ability to connect profoundly with the audience.

Christian Löffler's contribution to the world of electronic music goes beyond his albums and

performances. He co-founded the independent record label Ki Records, a platform for

like-minded artists to showcase their music. The label reflects Löffler's ethos of creativity,

innovation, and a deep respect for the artistic process.

2021 was a pivotal year for Löffler with the release of "Parallels," a significant addition to his

discography. This album, released in collaboration with Deutsche Grammophon,

showcased a reinterpretation of classic pieces by the composers such as Beethoven,

Chopin, and other legendary composers, blending them with Löffler's unique electronic style.

The album was a testament to his versatility as an artist and his ability to bridge classical

and electronic music, offering a fresh perspective on both genres. In 2024, Christian Löffler

continued to fortify his position in the world of electronic music by releasing his

groundbreaking album, “A Life.” The album demonstrates his unwavering dedication to

exploring new territories in sound and emotion, securing his place as a visionary artist in the

evolving landscape of electronic music.

The latest work of Christian Löffler, “Until We Meet Again”, will be released in January

2026. The album reflects on fleeting encounters, lingering emotions, and the invisible

threads that connect us. Written largely while on tour, its tracks began as intimate piano

sketches before expanding through vintage Japanese synthesisers, with Swedish vocalist

Adna lending her voice to the project. Staying true to his multidisciplinary practice, Löffler

created all the album artwork in aquarel, each image entwined with the music, forming a

360-degree experience where sight and sound meet, converse, and illuminate one another.

To mark the release, Löffler will embark on an international tour, joined by a full band – Adna

(vocals/guitar), Johanna Burnheart (violin), Sloane Monroe (viola), Midori Jaeger (cello),

and Elsas (piano) – bringing the promise of its title to life: until we meet again.
