Here to Stay: Asian Underground

Join us for an evening celebrating South Asian underground culture and the communities that shaped Bethnal Green and Brick Lane.

The evening kicks off with two incredible screenings: ***Here to Stay*** and ***Brimful of Asia*** by **Pratibha Parmar**, followed by **We Built This Room: Longing, Belonging and Resistance on Brick Lane**, a panel with **Sonia Mehta**, **Farook JOI**, **Rohan Rakhit** and **Pratibha Parmar**. Together, the films and conversation trace the stories, activism, identity and sounds that have shaped East London, from protest to party and past to present.

From there, the celebration moves to the dancefloor. **AWAAZ** opens the room, followed by **Amena Zaman** with a special **State of Bengal** tribute set, **Farook JOI**, **Nasha XP** and **DAYTIMERS**, with visuals from **Ace Rahman**.

Bringing together the sounds and stories of South Asian underground culture, this is a celebration of the artists, communities and movements that helped shape an iconic scene, honouring its East London roots while spotlighting the artists carrying that legacy forward today.
