Gathered - A Community Gathered Around Sound

Gathered – A community gathered around sound.

We are bringing a heavy-analogue vinyl system to Ballucci for an 8-hour session tracking the transatlantic history of soulful dance music. No pretentions, no dress codes—just a direct line from US East Coast roots to London’s early 90s movement.

The Sonic Timeline:

• 16:00–18:00 | Open Decks: Vinyl-only slots (20 mins). First come, first served—sign up on the chalkboard from 16:00. Strictly 80s Jazz-Funk, Soul, and Boogie.

• 18:00–19:00 | The Roots: Early 80s definitive grooves (Atlantic, Prelude, Salsoul).

• 19:00–00:00 | The Evolution: Classic 90s house (Strictly Rhythm, Shelter, Nu Groove).

Vinyl Market & Free Ultrasonic Cleaning (From 16:00):

Browse 6 independent record sellers (Free pitching—DM @Gathered.Vinyl on IG to book). Bring a few records down from home for a free deep-groove cavitation wash on our MaquiGra motorized ultrasonic cleaner while you dig.

The Setup:

Tuned for full-spectrum, clean sound rather than ear-fatiguing volume. Sit, browse, drink, and chat without shouting.

• Decks: Twin refurbished Technics SL1200 Mk2s ('87/'88) with low-capacitance RCA mods.

• Mixer: Union Audio Orbit 4 rotary.

• Sound: Peavey power & balanced Wharfedale EVP-X stack.
