Iko Cherie and Mary Sea will be joining forces for a new performance, expanding their sonic and visual universe and creating new sounds accompanied by Molly Astley.
After the presentation of their first performance at Café OTO in May 2023 – where the magic happened – we can see them return again this autumn to their beloved Folklore Hoxton.
IKO CHERIE
Iko Chérie is experimental pop made in London by French artist Marie Merlet who feels most at home in analog dub textures, weaving light and shadow to create a dream universe evocative of Twin Peaks. She will be performing new incantations from her upcoming album. Her world is one of woozy vocals, Casio drones, reverb drenched guitars and gleaned spoken word samples processed through tape delay.
MARY SEA
Mary Sea is the muse of Charley based in Los Angeles CA. Began as collaboration with experimental artist recording engineer Marta Salogni in London. Dream pop leaning into ambience. electronics field recordings drones and layered vocal melodies. Featuring collaboration u experimental composer percussionist Valentina Ma (Vanishing Twin. Moin. CZN) Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab. Cathy Lucas of Vanishing Twin.. Set to film collages and the animation of Japanese artist Noriko Okaku

MOLLY ASTLEY
Molly Astley is an interdisciplinary artist and singer based in South East London. Following a year of curating environmental choral performances, she is currently working on her debut EP of intimate, meditative and celestial songs, inspired by nature, healing and group vocal improvisation. She has recently performed at Camden Art Centre, the ICA, and with the band HAE.
