Waaju feat. Majid Bekkas

A masterful Moroccan musician collides with London's prodigy jazz band to create “a majestic spiritual jazz masterpiece” (Songlines Magazine).

Fronted by one of the most powerful African voices of today, Majid Bekkas collaborates with London band, Waaju, to present a unique approach to the Moroccan trance music ‘Gnawa’.

Majid Bekkas has been a key figure in the last decade’s revival of Gnawa music and is one of the foremost figures in the genre, having collaborated with Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp and Peter Brotzmann. Waaju’s records have been championed internationally by the likes of Jordan Rakei, Gilles Peterson, Jungle & Jazz FM.

They bring their hard-hitting grooves, heavy psychedelia and otherwordly live show to London.
