Alexander Flood is one of Australia’s commanding beat-masters, possessing a finessed arsenal of groove, power, and expertise on the drums. His unique sound and approach on the instrument has been crafted through many years of study, training, and dedication to music.

Leading his band from the drum chair, Alex’s music pushes a fresh rhythmic and dynamic realm of live dance music leaning on nu-jazz, house, broken beat, DnB, funk, and experimental sounds. Flood’s live set delivers hard-hitting dance energy from start to finish with tight masterful drums, big bottom bass, lush keyboard harmony, and floating jazz flute melodies.

Winning the Australia’s Best Up And Coming Drummer competition aged 19 in the open-age category was just the beginning of Alex’s accelerating trajectory in music, which has seen him go on to work with some heavyweight artists including Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah), Elena Pinderhughes, Weedie Braimah, as well as Àbáse, Horatio Luna, Cazeaux OSLO, Vivian Sessoms, and Nelson Dialect to name a few.

In 2023 Flood aligned with Berlin’s Jakarta Records to release his third album “Oscillate”, forging a new direction in dance music and bringing together Australian & European artistry, energy and collaboration. 2024 sees Flood finishing the production of 2 new studio albums, as well as a host of national and international tour dates with his band.
