Long-time friends and collaborators, musician Daniel Avery, alongside photographer Keffer are proud to present ‘Techno is Boring’, a new limited-edition book that collects a decade of work chronicling club culture in visceral form. Published by Velocity Press on 1st November, pre-orders are open today and include access to an exclusive Daniel Avery track.

‘Techno is Boring’ includes short written essays and notes from Avery and fellow DJ, writer and collaborator John Loveless, who also provides an introduction, appearing alongside guest contributions from friends and allies, including Avalon Emerson, Roman Flügel, Tijana T and James Massiah.

“Techno is not boring, clearly, but the culture surrounding it is where the real truth can be found. A gathering of like-minded misfits, oddballs and outsiders all soundtracked by a repetitive, enveloping drone. Anyone perpetuating the myth that “humans today have lost their attention spans’’ need only spend time in a proper nightclub and witness everyone locked into the same tribalistic worship for days on end. This is precisely what drew me to Keffer’s work in the first place - he captures that visceral vitality of a moment better than anyone and does it in a way that is completely unclouded by cliché.
