The Grime Orchestra

A brand new live orchestra is coming to The Steel Yard on Thursday 30th January to take you on a gritty journey through the most influential grime anthems in history.

Born in the UK streets, grime represents a generation that’s never afraid to stand against the system and speak the truth. The raw beats, the candid lyrics, the fierce DIY energy, the passion… Grime has shaped the UK’s club scene and brought some of the most important voices of a generation from the underground into the mainstream.

With full live arrangements featuring:

\* driving drum & percussions sounds,

\* moving strings,

\* hard-hitting verses,

\* and driving rhythms,

this performance celebrates the unstoppable force of grime and the MCs and producers who made it our cultural cornerstone.

Presented by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra & special guests, this will be a high-energy set of classic grime beats, imaginatively arranged for a 20-piece orchestra, and new music adapted from the rawest orchestral music.
