África Negra

**África Negra have been the most significant ambassadors of São Tomé and Príncipe's music for over 40 years, known for their unique blend of São Tomé Rumba and Soukous.**

After forming in 1974, they gained international fame, especially in lusophone African countries. Now their music is sought after on the contemporary global vinyl collectors market after releases on legendary Lisbon label Iefe Discos, and now Bongo Joe.

Now a six-member group, they have stabilised their lineup, continuing to perform globally, release old classics, and maintain their vintage sound with original instruments from the 1980s.
