Nino Gvilia might be a fictional character, like that of a book. According to few biographical traces found online, she was born in Georgia, near Lake Paliastomi, but has always led a wandering life, narrated in the pseudo-film Songwriting in Times of a Global Crisis. Nino Gvilia wonders if folk songs can still tell both sentimental and political stories, stirring our desires. Her naïve songs for voice and toy guitar or voice and harmonium incorporate magnetic tapes and field recordings, evoking forests, bodies loving in unconventional ways, and hallucinations. In 2024, she released her manifesto album NICOLE / OVERWHELMED BY THE UNEXPLAINED, a double EP available in vinyl and digital formats, through Hive Mind Records (UK)
