A pioneering voice in British folk, rock and progressive music
Claire Hamill is a singer-songwriter who has never allowed herself to be pigeonholed. Signed to Island Records at just 17, she released her debut album to critical acclaim, followed by TV appearances and world tours.
Over the years she has worked with artists as diverse as John Martyn, Vangelis, Ray Davies, and Wishbone Ash, while continuing to carve out her own unique path. If pressed to describe her music she might call it “gothic folk with a rocky edge,” yet her award-winning new age album Voices shows just how hard she is to categorise.
Today, Claire continues to explore her musical world with a freedom afforded to few artists, most recently with the Claire Hamill Band, bringing fresh energy to her songwriting and live shows.
