Acclaimed indie artist Jack Cheshire brings his 'dizzying, hypnotic' new album INTERLOPER to the Folklore Rooms for a full band show with support from Brighton-based composer, songwriter and multi-instrumental performer Alexander Painter.
'INTERLOPER' is an album about belonging or not belonging and all that entails. Living on an island, aware of this insidious creep toward something ugly, and the people who say 'if you don't like it then leave'. So you wonder; where would I go?

'Alexander Painter is a Brighton-based composer, songwriter and multi-instrumental performer who uses cello, saxophone, piano and voice in his work; employing experimental techniques, tape manipulation and improvisation to create a unique palette of sounds. Live performances weave improvisation into the song arrangements, and exploring influences ranging from modal jazz, the 70s New York experimental scene, contemporary classical and pop, he conjures otherworldly imagery from childhood glimpses and the apparently prosaic; bringing to mind the fluid, spontaneous arrangements of John Cale, Julia Holter or Arthur Russell.'
Presented by Loose Tongue.
