**From the Lips to the Moon (Tara Fatehi and Pouya Ehsaei) is joined by renowned trumpeter Yazz Ahmed, boundary-pushing experimental cellist Khabat Abas, and poets Zena Agha and Zara Joan Miller, bringing its boundary-pushing fusion of live music, poetry, and performance to Shubbak Festival.**
Blending live electronics, unearthly melodies, twisted beats, and fierce poetry, each show features a unique lineup of guest artists, creating an intimate yet expansive space of playfulness and transformation. Since 2022, From the Lips to the Moon has become a driving force in London’s experimental performance scene, with past shows at Southbank Centre, V&A Museum, Cafe OTO, and 180 Studios, as well as international performances.
Curated by lead performers Tara Fatehi (poetry, vocals) and Pouya Ehsaei (live electronics), this radical performance invites audiences into a space where dark fantasy, experimentation, and unexpected encounters unfold.
For Shubbak Festival 2025, Pouya and Tara will be joined by an eclectic group of artists with roots from Iran, Palestine, Bahrain, Kurdistan, Iraq: the unique voice in contemporary jazz, trumpeter and flugelhorn player Yazz Ahmed, experimental cellist who has played with various international ensembles Khabat Abas, and poets and multi-disciplinary artists Zena Agha (Hajar Press) and Zara Joan Miller (JOAN Publishing). Expect a night where boundaries blur, languages intertwine, and new dimensions take shape.
**Our bar / cafe will be open from 6pm. Doors open at 7pm**
