In the late 60's and early 70's there was the blossoming of the Witchcraft revival which played out across the media in films, books, TV and magazines.
With it came the new liberal attitudes of the Psychedelic era.
In this talk Gary Parsons takes a look at some of the rare movies featuring 'Psychedelic Witches' including the films of Mario Mercier a contemporary of Jean Rollin. He also examines the ephemera from the era and how Witches became the subject of exploitation magazines and books. The talk ties the threads together to show how the new Witch craze was exploited across the media and its dying out during the mid 70's.
So lets delve into the dark side of psychedelic witchcraft.
Gary Parsons is a Filmmaker and lecturer on film and a MA graduate in film from Goldsmiths College London. His previous talks include 'Witchcraft Documentaries of the 1970's' and 'Aleister Crowley on Film'
