Daytime Terrace Party to celebrate 1 year of Brighton Sundae.
Exactly a year ago, two DJs set out on a mission to build an inclusive, daytime, dance community for Brighton, based on the music they love – and Brighton Sundae was born. With an emphasis on Afrobeat, Latin, Soul, Funk, Dancefloor Jaz and Electronica, Brighton Sundae has become Brighton’s version of the legendary Dingwalls parties in London, hosted by Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge. Over the last year, Brighton Sundae has built a loyal following, sharing the joy of Sunday afternoon dancing to intelligent club sounds.
To celebrate the first anniversary, we’re bringing back the original DJ line-up, and will be blasting out some classic Brighton Sundae sounds on the terrace at Patterns.
Expect outdoor dancing, a great sound system, a warm & mixed crowd and of course, incredible tunes.
Leading the way will be Brighton Sundae’s two founders, D-Novo and Mr Dan, playing back to back. Mr Dan has built a solid reputation over many years in Brighton with residencies at The Jolly Brewer and The Great Eastern. His love of Afrobeat and soul is always a joy on the Brighton Sundae dancefloor. D-Novo is Sundae’s most eclectic selecter, equally at home dropping late night electronica as playing afternoon jazz-funk. Expect to hear everything from obscure broken beat to Latin disco, weird remixes of old classics and some dirty basslines.
See you on the floor!
Please note: Brighton Sundae is for Everyone. We have a limited number of kids’ tickets available (aged 2-16, must be accompanied). Use the code KIDSUNDAE at checkout to access those.
