Description

Glasgow''s Helicon return after a blazing gig at a sold out Lewes Psych festival at the start of this year.. blending neo-psych-rock with sitars, electronica, ambient soundscapes and irresistible grooves to take psychedelic music into fresh, new territory.

They channel their love for 60s counter-culture and eclectic, global music influences to create a modern and distinctive sound.

Helicon was formed by brothers John-Paul and Gary Hughes in East Kilbride, Glasgow. They signed to Fuzz Club in 2017 and have released 3 studio albums,

2 live albums, 2 EPs and 2 stand-alone singles to date.

Over the last few years, the band have been featured on BBC Radio 6 Music and previously collaborated on recordings with Tony Doogan (Mogwai),

Will Carruthers (Spacemen 3, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Dead Skeletons), Mark Gardener (Ride) and LA-based DJ/producer Al Lover.

SUPPORT: Kavus Torabi

A British-Iranian musician, composer, record label owner and radio broadcaster Kavus Torabi is a multi-instrumentalist, and is known for his work in the psychedelic, avant-garde rock field (primarily as a guitarist). Torabi was one of the founding members of the Monsoon Bassoon (as singer, guitarist and one of the two primary composers), was a member of the cult rock band Cardiacs, and fronts and plays guitar for the current lineup of legendary psychedelic band Gong.
