The Warlocks / Tō Yō

The Warlocks, formed in 1999 in L.A., blend psychedelic rock, Krautrock, and The Velvet Underground into a hypnotic, wall-of-sound style. Frontman Bobby Hecksher, originally from Florida, moved to L.A. at 16, collaborating with Beck and playing with Brian Jonestown Massacre before founding the band. Their 2003 album Phoenix on Mute Records brought international attention, followed by several more releases and relentless touring that built their cult following. The current lineup includes Hecksher, J.C. Rees, Earl V. Miller, Marlena Schwenck, Oscar Ruvalcaba, Rob Campanella, and Elina Yakubova.

**Tō Yō** is a Tokyo-based psychedelic quartet combining Japan’s rich psych-rock tradition with modern urban energy. Their sound, described by frontman Masami Makino as both “violent and naive,” seeks to awaken primal emotions. Influences include Far East Family Band, J.A. Seazer, and Jimi Hendrix, reflecting their bold artistic vision.
