Afro-Brazilian Sounds in Motion: Rhythms of Resistance, Echoes of Ancestry Roda de Santo + DIDI Live @ UNDR

An evening of ancestral frequencies and Afrodiasporic pulse, bringing together powerful voices in contemporary Black and diasporic expression. Roda de Santo is a Lisbon-based collective channeling the spiritual force of cantigas de terreiro - sacred songs from Umbanda - through a contemporary lens. Formed in 2021, the group blends powerful vocals, claps, percussive layers, and electronic beats to honor Afro-Brazilian spirituality and its ancestral depth. Each performance is a ritual in motion. For their London debut, Roda de Santo pays tribute to Exu, the Orixá of communication, freedom, and creative flow - an energy that opens paths and brings movement to stillness. Roda de Santo is formed by Alvaro Lancellotti, Karla da Silva, Bartolo, Sara Cabral, and Juninho Ibituruna.

DIDI (Di Candido) is an unstoppable force of cultural agitation and a vital presence in Portugal’s Black and Queer creative scenes. A multi-faceted artist, organizer, and DJ. Their DJ sets are a magnetic blend of Afrodiasporic club sounds - from 90s/00s R&B to baile funk, amapiano, kuduro, afrohouse, and more - always deeply intentional and joyfully disruptive. Born in Brazil, based between Portugal, the UK, and Belgium, DIDI brings diasporic resonance to every dancefloor they touch.

Join us for a night that honors the past, celebrates the present, and moves toward liberated futures.
