Description

**Misty Miller**

“Songstress of the South,” Misty Miller is a musician from South London who first gained attention with her self-titled debut album in 2011 at just 16 years old. Shortly after, she signed with Sony and released her second album, The Whole Family Is Worried. However, the experience proved difficult, leaving her disillusioned with the music industry.

In 2019, Misty returned to performing, resurrected and renewed, releasing music independently. Since then, she has shared a 12-track cassette, three EPs, and her first single since motherhood, Too Heavy. Though she has chosen a path away from the mainstream, Misty remains a respected figure within her local music community, known for her authenticity and unwavering dedication to her craft.

**The Pegwells**

The Pegwells are a band of folk playing the old time tunes of the Appalachian mountains. The band was formed in 2021 by Bianca Wilson (banjos) and Rebekah Bouche (guitars) as a way to claim space in a scene that marginalises non-male and non-white people.

We're here to expand ingrained ideas of who this music belongs to and why; highlighting and dismantling the erasure of black contribution to traditional banjo and fiddle music.

We are on a mission to embody a fuller, more honest history, and to re-establish this music we love as a site and means of radical inclusion.
