Norman Jay & Charlie Dark...Up On The Roof

Norman's 1st date of the 2025 season is on Saturday 19 July. Alongside Norman we have one of London's finest, and for a long overdue debut, Mr Charlie Dark.

As the Carnival godfather, Norman Jay MBE and his Good Times Sound System has entertained and educated revelers since the 1980's, bringing new soul, hip hop and house music to the masses. The founder and master of funk and soul brings has been bringing his irrepressible Good Times vibe to his favourite Brixton rooftop since 2012.

Charlie Dark is a South London native whose journey through music began in the '80s, shaped by pirate radio and warehouse raves. Known for his work with Attica Blues on Mo’ Wax and his legendary Blacktronica parties, he’s a selector with deep crates and a vinyl-only ethos. His sets—whether at Plastic People or on NTS and Worldwide FM—blend genres effortlessly. When he’s not DJing across the globe, you’ll find him leading Run Dem Crew, teaching yoga, or advocating for mental health—always bringing joyful, high-energy, cross-genre selections that unite dub, disco, house, soul, reggae, and more.
