El big city life de Smerz pren vida a l'escenari a través de melodies de piano amb un sol dit, presets de cordes, percussions i veus en directe - tot explicant històries viscudes i imaginades.

Smerz és el duo noruec format per Henriette Motzfeldt i Catharina Stoltenberg, itinerants entre Oslo i Copenhaguen. El passsat 23 de maig el duo va publicar el seu segon àlbum, Big city life, a través del segell danès Escho.

Utilitzant collages per capturar moments de la vida quotidiana i dels somnis, Smerz explica històries d’amor, apatia, solitud i amistat. El duet es troba a l'intersecció de gèneres, inspirant-se en tècniques compositives de la música clàssica, l’experimentació de la música per ordinador i la immediatesa del pop, tot dins de paletes d’existencialisme femení.

Smerz is the Norwegian duo of Henriette Motzfeldt and Catharina Stoltenberg, based in Oslo and Copenhagen. The duo has just released their sophomore album, Big city life, on May 23 through Danish label Escho.

Using collages to capture moments of everyday life and dreams, Smerz tell stories of love, apathy, solitude and friendship. The pair operates at the intersection of genres, drawing inspiration from compositional techniques in classical music, the experimentation of computer music and the immediacy of pop music, all in the palettes of girly existentialism.
