Description

An evening of speech music, followed by an open mic! (Now relocated to HQI).

**Maggie Nicols** joined London's Spontaneous Music Ensemble in 1968 as a free improvisation vocalist. She then became active running voice workshops with an involvement in local experimental theatre. She later joined the group Centipede, led by Keith Tippet, and in 1977, with Lindsay Cooper, formed the remarkable Feminist Improvising Group. She continues performing and recording challenging and beautiful work, in music and theatre.

**Faradena Afifi** is a free improviser and folk musician influenced by T'ai Chi Chuan and nature. She is an innovator, composer, singer-songwriter, band leader, and multi-instrumentalist. Faradena plays viola, cello, fiddle, double bass, piano and percussion. She works on her own and in collaboration with sound recordists, musicians, dancers, artists and poets.

**Jacob Dwyer** is an artist based in Amsterdam working with audio, moving-images and writing. His work often centres around personal encounters that could equally be seen as fables or heresy.

**Ryan Skelton** is a London based artist working within the mediums of photography, performance and fashion.

**Pentu** is a producer and guitarist based in London whose music explores the splintered emotional realities of living in an online world. Pentu’s latest release was described as ‘music for the endlessly scrolling modern mind’, incorporating silences, drones, YouTube samples, metal, and shoegaze textures.
