La Rumba x Phonetics bring Nubiyan Twist's NT Soundsystem and Aroop Roy to Sidney & Matilda on Saturday 18th October

One of La Rumba’s favourite and regular guests, Nubiyan Twist have built up a name as one of the forerunners of the UK Jazz scene, fusing together global grooves, soul and jazz; intertwined with electronic elements, horn-led melodies and spontaneous improvisation.

Nubiyan Twist Soundsystem is a new stripped back 3-piece dancefloor-ready lineup as they VIP remix the entirety of new album ‘Find Your Flame’ in a soundsystem style with live brass - expect a blend of dub, dancehall, amapiano, jungle, garage, kuduru and more.

The band will be joined by one of the hottest rising talents on the scene right now, and we are gassed to welcome Aroop back to La Rumba after his Sheffield debut with us and Dele Sosimi back in 2018.

London DJ and producer, Aroop Roy, is making some huge waves right now. His unique and inimitable DJ style mixing everything from house, garage and disco to jazz, global rhythms and techno has seen him become firm favourite at the likes of Defected Croatia, We Out Here, Glitterbox and Lost Village, shutting down Glastonbury on his debut playing to 5000 people on the Greenpeace stage.
