After a period of deep personal and artistic transformation, Texas troubadour Micah P. Hinson returns to move his audience with Oh, Sleepyhead. The new single, out June 13th on all digital platforms via Ponderosa Music Records, available for pre-save and radio rotation, previews his upcoming album The Tomorrow Man, due this fall.

Written during one of the most intense and vulnerable moments of his life, the song is a response to an inevitable inner change. Oh, Sleepyhead tells the story of breaking free from a suffocating reality, overcoming fears, and the painful but necessary path toward a new kind of freedom. In some ways, it marks a sharp departure from his traditional introspective style, featuring the Benevento orchestra conducted by Raffaele Tiseo, which gives it a partially band-like sound.

“When I wrote this song, my life was changing drastically, day by day,” says Micah P. Hinson. “The things I cared about were shifting. What once felt like love became control. It was a time of great confusion but also awakening, and this song symbolizes that moment: the end of one phase and the beginning of another. The freedom to find a new day, a new way to live, and the pain of leaving old lives behind. We can only be prisoners of our lives if we allow it, but yes, like most things in life, change has a price and freedom has consequences.”

The single invites reflection on the value of personal freedom and the strength needed to leave behind what no longer belongs to us. With intense sounds and authentic lyrics, Oh, Sleepyhead becomes the voice of those who have the courage to change, even when it hurts.

After two dates scheduled for late summer, Micah P. Hinson will return next fall with THE TOMORROW MAN TOUR 2025, a tour hitting some of the most important European venues, including stops in Italy. A unique opportunity to present the new album live.
