Sofia Kourtesis: 'Volver' DJ Set + Signing

Join us at Rough Trade Berlin on Wednesday, August 6th at 8 PM as we welcome DJ and producer Sofia Kourtesis for a DJ Set + Signing Session, celebrating her new EP 'Volver', released via Ninja Tune on 1st August.

PLEASE NOTE: Each entry ticket includes a copy of Sofia's new EP 'Volver' on black vinyl which can be picked up at the shop on the night. Sofia will also be signing your copy after her set.

Support on the night comes from Berlin-based DJ Twist Fire. Twist Fire sasses her way through classic house, bass, disco and soul, keeping in tune with the old school values of dance music: technique, selection, & style. Find her playing a monthly residency at YSY in Berlin from July to December!

The 'Volver' EP is Sofia’s first new music since Madres, her debut album released in October 2023. Having already broken through with a string of singles and EPs, 'Madres' took that success and ran with it, marking a huge moment for Sofia that has continued to build ever since.

The album was described in their interview features as “one of the year’s best dance albums” by The Guardian and "the kind of music that thaws any and all frigidity and reminds you of youraliveness" by Pitchfork and ranked highly in ‘End of Year’ lists from NME, Pitchfork, The Guardian, Resident Advisor and more. It also led to sold out shows at London’s Islington Assembly Hall and highlight sets at Glastonbury’s West Holts, Green Man and more.
