Parviz's self-titled debut album is slated for July 2025, evoking the spirit of Iran's pre-revolutionary '70s music scene. The lead single "Azadeh" — a female given name symbolizing independence — nods to the recent "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement, with artwork by Rana Fadavi emphasizing its urgency. Piercing guitars and flowing detuned synthesizers create a dreamy, psychedelic atmosphere throughout the opus; DIY aesthetics and indie influences infuse each track with emotion and nostalgia, resulting in a debut that's both rooted in Persian culture and distinctly modern. "Azadeh" music video directed by Steph Hope (Stones Throw), album mastering by Katie Tavini (Arlo Parks, Los Bitchos).
Steph Hope, or “Wiffeney” as she is better known; is a multi-disciplinary artist whose body of work is best described as the most beautiful, psychedelic vomit you've ever seen. She draws grotesque melting humans, writes soulful oddball music, and was in the art department on the original chaotic web series 'Don't Hug Me I'm Scared' (if you know, you know).
