Guava Jamz Day Party W/ Awesome Tapes From Africa

We are setting up a fat soundsystem at Campfire in Kings Cross for an all day outdoor sun soak with a massive line up of dance fuelled music maestros.

Headlining is the incredible Awesome Tapes From Africa, playing and mixing cassette tapes rather than digital or vinyl. Starting as a blog consciously elevating and celebrating cassette tapes from across the African continent, collaborating directly with the original artists, ATFA is now a respected label with founder Brian Shimkovitz sharing the music through his DJ sets. This is a rare opportunity to listen to music you have likely never heard before played through tape decks in a stunning outdoor space on an immense sound system.

We are also excited to welcome Tina Edwards. A deep digger, Tina’s sets are a voyage of music discovery with under-the-radar releases and uncovered gems from the past. The Londoner weaves a journey through jazz, soulful house, offbeat disco, afro-grooves, Latin American rhythms and more. Tina’s performed everywhere from Glastonbury to the BAFTAs, across the UK and Europe as well as Australia and Japan.

Our final guest is Josh FB, founder of Zouk label Discotheque Tropicale and a fast rising DJ in his own right with a collection subtle re-edits supported by the likes of Hunee, Antal, Palms Trax and more.

There will be beers on tap, pizzas on sale all day and soul warming house heaters from start to finish.
