Parrjazz is delighted to announce our eighth Mutant Jazz event will take place at Liverpool’s

Rough Trade venue on Hannover Street, September 20th, 2025, with doors opening at 7pm, closing time 11pm.

Mutant Jazz celebrates the emerging talent from Liverpool’s live Jazz Spectrum, exposing them to new audiences from the age of 14 years and upwards.

**Mutant Jazz #8** will feature:

**Tian Qiyi** – Anglo-Chinese psych dub jazz. Tian Qiyi is a genre-defying sibling duo creating immersive live experiences by blending traditional Chinese and Mongolian instruments with dub, post-punk, and experimental grooves. They are sons of Zilan Liao (gu zheng) and Jah Wobble (post-punk bass legend), and their performances include live-looped erhu, morin khuur, yangqin, bass, drums, and voice.

**bad glitches** – A project that pulls together musical influences from video games and jazz fusion and turns them into a whole new jazz genre! The first video game music + jazz band in Liverpool when first launched in 2022. The band includes Liverpool jazz players: Dan Barreto, Cia Tomasso, Jack Lewis, Fran Mills and Adam Fairclough.

**MC Motormouf** \- Mutant Jazz’s favourite MC, is a Hip-hop hippy who travels the galaxy armed with a loop pedal and a microphone! Motormouf brings energy and builds the vibes. They will be performing their legendary Looper set, herding the jazz cats on and off the stage and freestyling.

**DJ JabJazz** - Vinyl set of tunes form the outer limits of the jazz spectrum. JabJazz DJs with DJ Copious Notes in Liverpool and Hebden Bridge.
