Returning with their first single in 2025, Portsmouth-based techno-psych fuzz merchants LIPWORMS share long-awaited new single ‘Teeth’, out today (15th July) via Strong Island Recordings (Ugly, Los Bitchos, Ugly Ozo)

Following on from debut single ‘handshake’ - released to launch last year’s tastemaking Slow Dance Compilation, and winning support in turn from So Young, The Line of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Still Listening and Hard of Hearing - LIPWORMS newest effort sees them up and the ante and fiendishly flex their neuron-frying muscles.

Looking to channel the sprawling cataclysms of their loud and immersive gigs, the band took an early improvised live recording of ‘Teeth’ into their “sweaty loft” home studio. Mutilating, distorting, modulating and sampling multiple guitar, synth, bass and vocal takes to generate new rhythmic ideas, the band transformed the track’s once loose structure into a renewed and snarling, hypnotic beast. On the one hand embracing the lysergic immediacies of rocket-fuelled psychedelic rock, ‘Teeth’ is also a track throbbing with club-ready beats that could last all damn night.
