Description

Songwriters and Wordsmiths promises to be a jam packed feast of stunning acoustic talent featuring Aisling Carter, Izzie Derry, Chloe Leigh and Martha St Arthur. Doors open at eight thirty. And it’s all free. It’s a treat for the ears and the eyes… and the soul!

Opener - Aisling Carter

Aisling Carter is a literature loving, teller of South London tales, she is a time signature disrupter and a skilful and gutsy guitarist. Think indie folk with the drama of Soft Cell, the swagger of the Arctic Monkeys and the energy of Elastica

Support - Izzie Derry

It’s the first time at the Hootananny for Izzie Derry, a young singer-songwriter. Her songs tackle life’s pressures with honesty and electric energy. Imagine a British Edie Brickell / Alanis Morisette - we’re hugely excited to see her live.

Support - Chloe Leigh

Chloe is back - at last. She’s as good for our wellbeing as a the first warm day of the year. Inspired by artists such as Leonard Cohen and Laura Marling, Chloe Leigh’s music portrays sincere tales of love and loss. Despite growing up in England, Chloe also takes inspiration from her Spanish roots, carefully blending folk, pop and a touch of Latin flair to create her unique style of writing.

Headliner - Martha St Arthur

With her crystal voice, her razor wit, her brilliant combination of melody and story telling - we are more than delighted that she’s back. She’s the real deal. Each time she plays is an absolute. privilege.

Presented by Hootananny Brixton.
