If Alpha Male Tea Party have been in a cocoon for the last 5 years, they’ve now burst out, not so much as a beautiful butterfly but as a wretched, screaming mutant that knows how to behave at the dinner table.

After a break from touring and performing, the Liverpool-based trio are back, and they’ve been busy. Following on from 2020’s Infinity Stare, they now emerge with Reptilian Brain, a bold and expansive new album set for release on Big Scary Monsters in October 2025. Known for their combination of vast and aggressive instrumental workings, Alpha Male Tea Party have long stood at the vanguard of the UK's math and progressive rock scenes. With Reptilian Brain, they push their sonic identity into striking new territory: for the first time, vocals and lyrics play a central role.

Alpha Male Tea Party have been key figures in the UK’s alternative music underground for over 15 years, with acclaimed appearances at ArcTanGent, Portals and Strangeforms Festivals, and countless others. They’ve received strong backing from the likes of Metal Hammer, Total Guitar, Echoes and Dust and ProgMagazine, with previous records praised for their technical mastery, maturity and exhilarating creativity, and Reptilian Brain suggests this latest chapter could be the most vital yet.
