CLAIRE TAIBI'S ART EXHIBITION BETWEEN THE SKY LAND AND SEE

** Between the Sky, Land and Sea – Exhibition by Claire Taibi **

Created during a two-month residency at Rui Soares Costa'art residency at Olho de Boi, facing the Tagus River, this new series by Claire Taibi emerges from a territory where river and ocean converge, where the earth opens to the sky.

Presented in one of the oldest houses of Costa da Caparica, a historical place imbued with memory, the exhibition gains a profound resonance. The setting itself becomes part of the narrative: a dialogue between permanence and fragility, between history and the fleeting nature of emotions.

Taibi explores the tensions that define our existence: simplicity and complexity, the visible and the invisible, life and the beyond. Inspired by the daily life of Caparica ; surfers riding waves, fishermen keeping ancestral practices, sailors carried by the wind, her work reflects on humanity’s fragile place before the power of nature.

These new paintings, becomes both passage and memory: it connects us to those who are no longer here, it embodies continuity beyond absence. The vibrations of the earth and the force of the elements discreetly remind us of our vulnerability, our smallness within a vast and ever-changing world.

Minimalist, naïve yet profound, Taibi’s paintings do not seek representation but transmission: of feelings, of presence, of humanity itself. They invite us to stand with our feet on the ground and our gaze lifted to the sky, inhabiting the fragile space between the material and the spiritual.

**Between the Sky, Land and Sea – Exposição de Claire Taibi**

Criada durante dois meses de residência com Rui Soares Costa, no Olho de Boi, diante do Tejo, esta nova série de Claire Taibi nasce de um território onde o rio encontra o oceano, onde a terra se abre ao céu.

Apresentada numa das casas mais antigas da Costa da Caparica – um lugar histórico e cheio de memória – a exposição ganha uma ressonância particular. O próprio espaço integra-se na narrativa: um diálogo entre a permanência e a fragilidade, entre a história e a efemeridade das emoções.

Taibi explora as tensões que moldam a nossa existência: a simplicidade e o complexo, o visível e o invisível, a vida e o além. Inspirada pelo quotidiano de Caparica – surfistas a enfrentar as ondas, pescadores a manter práticas ancestrais, velejadores guiados pelo vento – a sua obra reflete sobre a posição frágil do ser humano perante a força da natureza.

A água, nestas pinturas, torna-se passagem e memória: liga-nos àqueles que já não estão, encarna a continuidade para além da ausência. As vibrações da terra e a força dos elementos lembram discretamente a nossa vulnerabilidade, a nossa pequenez perante um mundo vasto e em constante transformação.

Minimalistas, ingénuas mas profundas, as pinturas de Taibi não procuram representar mas transmitir: sentimentos, presenças, a própria humanidade. Convidam-nos a manter os pés assentes na terra e o olhar voltado para o céu, habitando o espaço frágil entre o material e o espiritual.
