Re:sonate the partnership of DJs, broadcasters and curators Tina Edwards and Tim Garcia—host a free entry weekly jazz night in the heart of the city from 7.30PM.
Omasta
Omasta treads new paths without abandoning the old. Rooted in jazz but steeped in the rhythms of hip-hop and street culture, their sound is a bold fusion of tradition and Innovation. The band’s name, Omasta, comes from a regional Krakow dialect word meaning “fat added to food for flavor.” It’s an apt metaphor: their music is rich, saturated with thick drums and deep, heavy bass, all layered beneath the melodic interplay of piano, trumpet, saxophone, and flute. Formed in Krakow over several years, Omasta officially launched with a tribute to J Dilla in February 2024 at the city’s iconic Paul’s Boutique. Since then, they’ve been making waves across Poland and Europe, performing at top venues like The Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scott’s in London, AB in Brussels, and the Gent Jazz Festival. They’ve shared stages with genre-shaping acts including Slum Village, Aquiles Navarro (Irreversible Entanglements), Tenderlonious, and Polish free jazz legend Leszek Żądło. Their live tributes to hip-hop icons like Madlib have further cemented their reputation—all before releasing a single track.
Omasta will release their debut album in October 2025 via Astigmatic Records.
DJ, broadcaster and re:sonate founder Tim Garcia will be taking care of the atmosphere from the decks, 7.30pm onwards.
