Pool Girl is the solo project of Carpinteria, California-native artist and producer Allie Nixon. Raised on her dad’s Beatles and Beach Boys records, she later found her own sound through 2010s icons like Passion Pit, MGMT, Gorillaz, Beach House, and Tame Impala. During the 2020 lockdown, she taught herself to produce at home, later adding DJing to sharpen her sense of rhythm, texture, and tension.

Written between California and France, her debut album Melancholic Beach Town is a bittersweet love story to Carpinteria woven from patient basslines, drifting synths, and surf-tinged guitars.
