When members of Algiers (and ex-Bloc Party), GHUM, Hilang Child and Helen Ganya joined forces through ESEA Music, the result was Wet Market — a new left-field British-Asian rock collective blending sharp humour, defiance and thunderous sound.
Born from an ESEA Music writing camp and spanning roots across Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, Wet Market is a shapeshifting project reclaiming narratives and rewriting expectations. Their debut single ‘Red Lantern’ tackles the exoticising gaze with ferocity and wit.
Join Wet Market and friends from the ESEA Music community for a night of bold new sounds, solo sets and shared energy at Paper Dress Vintage. Come discover the UK’s most exciting new collective in motion.
Presented by ESEA Music.
