Alzou – Film Screening by Ugo Watzi

Cloud Seven invites you to discover Alzou, a short film by Ugo Watzi. The film was created during the artist’s residency at WIELS in 2025, coinciding with the exhibition Magical Realism: Imagining Natural Dis/order, and was produced with the support of Frédéric de Goldschmidt. Through various media—here, film—Watzi interweaves the intimate with fiction and queer theory. The poetic quality of his work opens up political questions, using imagination as a tool to examine the world and reinvent it.

The evening will begin with two consecutive screenings of Alzou (19’), followed by a conversation with the filmmaker Ugo Watzi, WIELS curator Sofia Dati, composer Mélodie Blaison, and performer Alban Ovanessian. The event will conclude with a concert by Mélodie Blaison, who will present an electroacoustic performance weaving flutes, ceramic instruments and field recordings into poetic, speculative soundscapes.
