Mae Stephens, the 20-year-old pop singer from Kettering, has gone from working supermarket shifts to topping charts after a TikTok snippet of her song “If We Ever Broke Up” exploded into a viral hit.
Signed to EMI, her sleek funk-pop sound, anchored by witty, emotionally honest lyrics, has resonated widely. A songwriter since age 12, Stephens channels her experiences of bullying and her ADHD diagnosis into empowering tracks about identity and resilience.
