The Stage is Always Set #9 - Janeiro em janeiro

Há eventos onde jantamos, bebemos e estamos com os amigos. Há eventos familiares, de todo o tipo. E há eventos onde se vai porque alguém decidiu que, durante uma semana, ia fechar um músico numa penthouse para ver o que acontece. Neste caso, dois músicos. O artista residente é Janeiro cantor, compositor e multi-instrumentista português, conhecido pela sua fusão de canção portuguesa, MPB, jazz e eletrónica, tendo lançado álbuns como Fugacidade (2024), nomeado para os Grammy Latinos, e Protocolar Vol. II (2023) com Paulo Novaes, com uma carreira que se destacou após a sua participação no Festival da Canção em 2018. 

De 5 a 11 de janeiro, vai viver na Penthouse do Mateus Hotel, na Bica, um creative lab com vista e sem o tempo que, certamente gosta de ter, para criar. A este desafio, junta-se Kyle Quest. Menos conhecido por Diogo Braga (provavelmente só os professores é que se lembram). Músico, produtor, ex-baterista dos Zanibar Aliens, habituado a álbuns, digressões e festivais por todo o país e também fora de portas. Criou um alter-ego, lançou vários EPs e chega agora, em 2025, com CICATRIZES DE LUXO.

O resultado será visto no TSIAS, a 29 de janeiro, no Mateus Hotel, das 21h00 às 22h30.

Não vai haver comida porque queremos evitar distrações para testemunhar este conceito único.

Mas há vinho. Mateus Rosé, o grande anfitrião.

O bilhete custa 15€.

Inclui música nova, bebidas selecionadas e aquela sensação ligeiramente estranha, mas boa, de

assistir a algo que, noutra situação, seria apenas o início de um processo.

A arte destes dois músicos no seu estado mais cru. E é precisamente isso que tem tudo para o tornar especial.

There are events where you eat, drink, and catch up with friends. There are family gatherings of every kind. And then there are events you go to because someone thought it would be a good idea to lock a musician in a penthouse for a week and see what happens. In this case, two musicians. The resident artist is Janeiro, a Portuguese singer, songwriter, and multi‑instrumentalist known for blending Portuguese song, MPB, jazz, and electronic music. He has released albums such as Fugacidade (2024), nominated for the Latin Grammys, and Protocolar Vol. II (2023) with Paulo Novaes. His career gained prominence after his participation in the Festival da Canção in 2018.

From January 5th to 11th, he will be living in the Penthouse at Mateus Hotel, in Bica, a creative lab with a view, and probably less time than he’d like to create anything at all. Joining him in this challenge is Kyle Quest. Less well known as Diogo Braga (a name probably remembered only by his teachers). He’s a musician and producer, former drummer of Zanibar Aliens, and no stranger to albums, tours, or festivals across the country and beyond. He created an alter ego, released several EPs, and now

arrives in 2025 with CICATRIZES DE LUXO.

The outcome will be revealed at TSIAS on January 29th, at Mateus Hotel, from 9:00 to 10:30 pm.

There won’t be any food. We want to keep distractions to a minimum so you can fully take in this

unique concept.

There will be wine. Mateus Rosé, acting as the perfect host.

Tickets are €15.

They include new music, selected drinks, and that slightly odd, but genuinely good, feeling of

watching something that, under normal circumstances, would still be in its early stages.

This is the work of two musicians in its rawest form.

And that’s exactly what makes it special.
