Until 2013, it wasn’t possible to be formally diagnosed with both autism and ADHD, yet research now shows these conditions co-occur in up to 80% of cases. Despite this, neurodivergence has long been understood through a male lens, leaving countless women misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and unsupported. In this eye-opening talk, Dr Lauren Breese unpacks the science of AuDHD in women – revealing how gender bias, societal expectations, and the art of masking have shaped (and distorted) our understanding of what autism and ADHD “should” look like.
Drawing on cutting-edge research and her clinical experience, Dr Breese will explore how AuDHD can manifest in women across attention, social situations, sensory experiences, executive function, and emotional regulation. Whether you’re exploring your own neurodivergence or simply curious about the science behind AuDHD, this talk offers a new way of seeing what it truly means to be an AuDHD woman today.
