UK global beats/tropical bass favourites TC & The Groove Family play Leeds for the first time in 2 years on Friday 20th March 2026 at Belgrave Music Hall for a DJ Lubi Presents show.
The 9-piece collective celebrates the coming together of cultures, and the unity that music can provide for all. Driven by drummer Tim Cook (TC), fronted by MC Franz Von, and completed by horns, percussion, guitars and bass, their live shows are impactful and dynamic, exploring grooves and genres including afrobeat, broken beat, jungle, jazz, hip-hop and grime.
The band have played major UK festivals including Glastonbury, We Out Here, Greenman, Shambala, Boomtown and WOMAD. They’ve supported Vieux Farka Touré, Seun Kuti, K.O.G, Nubiyan Twist and Yussef Dayes en route to becoming one of the most sought after live acts on the UK and European music circuit.
Their debut album ‘First Home’ was released in 2022 on Bristol label Worm Discs (Snazzback, corto. alto), recorded and produced by Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, ONIPA). Their 2024 EP ‘We Have Each Other’ channelled UK bass and electronic music alongside afro-jazz and hip-hop beats. The band have released 2 remix projects, collaborating with the likes of Mia Koden, OneDa, Blue Lab Beats, Nikitch.
TC’s music has been supported by 6 Music DJs Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova, Don Letts and Craig Charles, plus BBC Introducing, Jazz FM, Rinse FM, NTS and more. They’ve also been championed by major publications including Jazzwise and Songlines.
