. Keety Roots começou a fazer música aos 18 anos, produzindo Dubplates no Vibes Studio, para artistas como Jah Warrior, Aba Shanti I.

No início dos anos 90, fundou o seu próprio estúdio e discográfica, Black Legacy, onde lançou singles e álbuns, tanto solo quanto em colaboração com Tena Stelin, Naphtali, Carlton Livingston e Mike Brooks, entre outros.
