A Guy Called Gerald is a pioneering figure in electronic music, renowned for his influential contributions to the UK’s acid house and jungle scenes, as well as underground masterpieces such as Black Secret Technology. Coming from Manchester in the late ‘80s, Gerald Simpson, known professionally as A Guy Called Gerald, gained widespread recognition with his iconic 1988 track "Voodoo Ray", a seminal hit in the acid house movement, as well as his contributions to the development of UK music as part of 808 State.
A Guy Called Gerald continues to innovate and perform, captivating audiences with live sets that combine classic acid house with cutting-edge electronic beats. Come and bear witness to one of the key architects of the British rave scene, live in session in the Tappy.
