We Are All Fossils (Full Band)

***We Are All Fossils*** is the musical project of South African-born singer-songwriter Deist Oelofse, blending folk songwriting with ambient textures and deeply personal storytelling. His music lives in the space between stillness and change, reflecting on memory, time, and the quiet strength of the natural world. Built around acoustic guitars, atmospheric layers, and an emotionally honest vocal, the sound is intimate yet open, inviting listeners to slow down and listen closely.

Since the release of his second album, Gravity in Grief, the project has grown steadily through word of mouth, passing one million streams while remaining fully independent. The record has found its audience gradually, resonating with listeners drawn to its reflective and unguarded approach. Live, We Are All Fossils creates a strong sense of closeness and shared experience. Whether performing solo or with a band, Deist’s performances are understated and present, drawing audiences into something personal yet familiar. A special moment for the band came in late 2024 with a live session for the BBC at the iconic Maida Vale Studios.
