Protoje, born Oje Ken Ollivierre in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, is a pivotal figure in the reggae revival movement. Blending roots reggae with hip-hop, soul, and jazz, his music resonates with socially conscious themes and innovative rhythms. His debut album, The Seven Year Itch (2011), introduced his distinctive sound, followed by acclaimed works like Ancient Future (2015) and A Matter of Time (2018), the latter earning a Grammy nomination. As the founder of In.Digg.Nation Collective, Protoje mentors emerging Jamaican artists, fostering a new wave of talent.
