Liquify All Assets welcomes Berlin-based artist Mary Ocher to Brighton for a rare and intimate performance, marking the UK tour kickoff for her new album Weimar. Known for moving fluidly between underground genres blurring lines that fringe on avantgarde pop and experimental folk with sharply focused songwriting, Ocher's work resists easy categorisation.
Ocher has long been recognised for music that sits at the intersection of the personal and the political, without leaning on slogans or spectacle. Weimar was written during a period of major personal change and recorded largely around piano-based compositions. The album takes its name from a historical reference point that Ocher has connected to the present moment.
This Brighton show offers an early chance to experience Weimar in its live form, at the start of its UK journey. For those drawn to underground music that values substance over noise, this is a night worth paying attention to.
