Luke Purbrick is a young jazz guitar player who had the privilege of studying with the award-winning saxophonist Binker Golding at Tomorrow's Warriors which inspired him to form the LP Quartet in 2022 and perform his own music. This led him to perform at Love Supreme, Latitude, Swanage Jazz Festival and many other venues across London. Since then, he has led many of his own bands such as Morse Contact and his Octet.
Last year with Hans Koller, Calum Gourlay and Sam Nicholls, Luke led "Four In One", exploring the compositions of Thelonious Monk. He was also a featured player in Xhosa Cole's Monk project on multiple occasions.
He is also a featured player in the Brighton jazz scene where he has played as part of the Brighton Jazz Festival and with many great musicians such as Chris Coull, Simon Savage and Lawrence Jones.
Luke's performances with his trio share his love of improvising through his compositions as well as classic standards that he loves. Expect thoughtful improvising, modern grooves and a few familiar tunes, here and there.
