Casa Palestina Opening Weekend

Casa Palestina opens as the first Palestinian cultural house in Lisbon, a space dedicated to Palestinian culture and artistic expression. Created for the continuity of Palestinian culture across generations, Casa Palestina brings together artists, writers, educators, and community members to share ideas, knowledge, and creative endeavors.

Throughout the evening, guests will explore the art exhibition, experience special musical performances, and enjoy Palestinian bites prepared with care.

The night will feature special performances by Palestinian artists:

7:00 PM – Reception – Guests are welcomed into the Casa Palestiniana as the space opens for gathering and connection. Palestinian finger foods, tea, and refreshments will be served.

8:30 PM — Rawan (Live)

Rawan Roshni is a Palestinian artist and vocalist whose work centers on connection, healing, and cultural expression. Blending traditional SWANA influences with contemporary sounds, she creates powerful live experiences that invite audiences into a space of shared emotion and collective presence.

9:30 PM — Dabke Performance

A live performance by Handala. Dabke, a traditional Palestinian folk dance, embodies the spirit of collective movement and intergenerational continuity.

9:45 PM — ISAM (Live)

Palestinian pianist, composer, and live electronic performer ISAM places the piano at the heart of a dynamic Afro-electronic soundscape, merging acoustic depth with immersive electronic textures.

11:00 PM — Adan (DJ Set)

A London-based artist from Jerusalem, Adan delivers minimal house and deep electronic selections tailored for the late-night dancefloor—bass-driven, rhythmic, and hypnotic.

ABOUT THE SPACE

Casa Palestina is located in Alcântara, whose name derives from the Arabic al-qantara, meaning “the bridge.” In a city whose history still bears traces of Arabic, Casa Palestina becomes another meeting place.

Culture has transformed into more than expression; it is the means by which memory is defended, erasure is resisted, and what must endure is preserved. At its heart is a simple belief: art and culture are not separate from struggle; they are the lifeline through which people continue to imagine their future.
