Missione Buio is a workshop by BASE Milano curated by Clara Fois based on an activity journal designed to guide brave children in discovering the dark and its mysterious inhabitants. Through coloring pages, drawing exercises, and fascinating facts about nocturnal animals, the workshop invites young explorers to investigate darkness in a scientific yet playful way.

Participants (kids aged between 4 and 10) are called on to support a frightened scientific community—too afraid to explore the dark themselves—by collecting observations and insights about this deep, often-avoided obscurity. By engaging directly with the theme, children are encouraged to transform fear into curiosity, learning to see the dark as a space of discovery rather than something to avoid.

At the end of the workshop, each kid is awarded the title of Supreme World Expert on Deepest Darkness and Its Derivatives, along with a personalized “Darkness ID Card” created using the knowledge gathered throughout the experience.
